Mr Deguara was honest and kind, he went out of his way to include me in discussions about everything and he led his team really well. Even though the surgery won’t cure my cancer it will improve my quality of life .

I could not fault the care and quality received. I had my operation at the New Victoria and it was amazing. The outpatient appointments are at Kingston they were easy to contact and arrange times however the private outpatient wing could be modernised.

Mr Deguara has a friendly, approachable manner. I felt at ease straight away at the first consultation as he listened attentively, examined me carefully and explained the operation, whilst also giving me all the relevant information and the benefit of his professional knowledge. On the day of my surgery at the New Victoria Hospital, he went through the procedure again and I felt completely relaxed and confident. After the operation, he explained what he had found and the next steps. I looked forward to the follow up meeting, where he was very interested in my progress, examined me carefully and gave me further advice. I found the whole experience very positive and would recommend Mr Deguara unreservedly.

I had my Gallbladder removed by Mr Deguara in late May 2018 at Coombe Ward at Kingston Hospital. It was a scheduled surgery, having already been admitted in March with an inflamed gallbladder and being taken care of by Mr Deguara then in the same ward and hospital. I have extreme anxiety about any surgery, to the point of pretty much refusing to do it. But Mr Deguara was absolutely brilliant, from the pre-surgery consultations, to the actual day itself, he listened to me tried to reassure me as much as he could and hadhis anaesthetist came to see me on the day and put me at ease, or at least as much as they could. I could not recommend them high enough. Post surgery, its like I never had gallstones and I was back up and eating normally within a few days. My post-surgery appointment with Mr Deguara went well 6 weeks later and he discharged me. I can't recommend him highly enough and if I am unfortunate enough to ever have to have an operation again, I would definitely want him to do it.

Mr Deguara was a pleasure to consult: he made me aware of all the pros and cons of my condition and explained the procedures fully, while alleviating the anxieties of a rather nervous candidate for surgery. I had both my gastroscopy and the ensuing laparoscopic cholecystectomy at the New Victoria hospital. The bedroom was spotless and comfortable, and the nursing staff reassuring and kind. I didn't need to spend the night in hospital and felt very much back to normal within 5 or 6 days of the operation - testament no doubt to Mr Degura's skill.
